Two Mumbai models suspected to be in the prostitution business and their escort, with strong Bollywood links, were picked up by the city police from a 3-star hotel in Cantonment area late Saturday night. The trio was remanded to three-day police custody by judicial magistrate first class Gauri Jadhav on Sunday.
Police identified the two models as Harshada Dinanath Redkar, 28, a resident of Goregaon Link Road, and Rafnitkaur Daljitsinh Goraya, 28, of Juhu Versova. While Redkar had acted in a Marathi television serial, Goraya had done bit parts in Hindi and Punjabi music albums, besides some advertisements, said Police Inspector Rajendra Bhamre.
He said their escort, Jonanath Satyanath, 28, of Versova, too was well-connected with films, advertising and television, and had worked as assistant director for some Hindi films.
The police after a tip off procured the mobile number of Satyanath which helped them track the models to their hotel rooms through a decoy.
After they arrived in Pune, Jonanath started hunting for clients. Following a tip-off from a police informer, the police laid a trap. “Jonanath discussed the terms and money issues with decoy customers in the hotel and the rate was fixed as Rs 2 lakh,”
